For me, confusing and kind of solitary. I’ve only met one other person my age who has the same ethnicity and who is not related to me. I didn’t grow up near my extended family. Even aside from Chamorros I’ve met only a handful of other Pacific Islanders, usually Native Hawaiians. Basically everyone I meet is a different race than I am.

I don’t even really know how to contextualize (and therefore describe) my experience.
